KCO's Off-Ice Skating was formed in March 2008 by Karen Coombes and Karen
O'Neill in their desire to develop and package ice skating in a
completely unique way. KCO's specially designed dry ice blade makes it
possible to practice ice skating skills, such as jumps, turns and
spins, on any smooth, hard flat surface.
This new concept of Ice skating then allowed KCO to bring the Ice
skating discipline into the community for all to enjoy, making ice
skating not just for Christmas, but a sport for life!
The Off-Ice Skating learn to skate programme has evolved over a 15 year
period. It was introduced to ice skaters by ice skating coach Karen
Coombes, who wanted a quicker progression for her students. Off-Ice Skating
has adopted this method of teaching and developed it further to give
the new skater a unique and easy way to learn how to ice skate without
the ice.
